Occupying Spaces: The White Dress Project

The project is devised by MA Fashion Curation students of London College of Fashion and directed by Amy de la Haye and Judith Clark. A perfect place for a fashion exhibition, the project can be seen at Carnaby's Broadwick Street.
The exhibition features a various number of identical white dresses in a series of both conventional and unusual ways. The trick is that all dresses are interacting with the gallery space. And the best part is you can also design your own white dress and hang it on the wall. Isn't it great to become a part of an exhibition, not so common, aye?

Madonna, Materials of the Girl Exhibition

London is getting alive at this time of year. We may not be able to purchase Micheal Jackson's (a different kind of human) final tour tickets, but we can definetely visit this cool exhibition of Madonna (the über-human) at Brick Lane, Old Truman Brewery till 22 March! Admission fee: 8,50 pounds.

She's 70 but still younger than me and 99% of the audience at the concert at the O2 arena. No surprise she has been called the most successful female rock artist ever with record sales nearly 200 million copies worldwide, with this energetic stage performance.

It's a must go show before you die.

The Modern Face of the White City; Westfield London

Shepherd’s Bush was known with its market, White City, historical background and the cosmopolitan inhabitants until the opening of Westfield London. The shopping center cost for 1,7 billion pounds and changed the face of the surrounding when opened. And the mall is the largest urban area indoor shopping centre in Europe.

Some of the Westfield’s stores are; Miu Miu, Dior, Prada, Apple, All Saints, Fred Perry, Henley’s, Armani Exchange, Hugo Boss, Ugg, Tiffany & Co, De Beers, Carat...

And some Turkish stylish brands Machka (one of my favorites), Ipekyol and Desa.


Being in this big shopping center, in a historic, street living culture and arts city made me feel that I am living in the animation movie Wall-E. (minimum energy, maximum consumption)
We cant know Westfield’s effects on the traditional texture of the city, but the center is really vivid in spite of the credit crunch with people at the champagne bar, and people with UGG shopping bags...

Take the District Line and use the Shepherd's Bush's Westfield exit for the center.
